FAQ

What is meal prep?
Meal prep personal chef services can vary depending on your needs. All meals will be cooked in your home, put into individual meal or family-style containers, and stored appropriately so you can easily heat them up at home or grab them to go. You can choose a set block of services, (for example: 3 dinners, 2 breakfasts, and a snack) or mix and match to suit your needs.
Choose from:
- Dinner entrees
- Packable lunches
- Grab and go breakfast items
- Snacks
- Dessert
What kind of food can you make?
Anything that packs up and reheats well! I can work with you to create menus that reflect dietary goals, such as high protein, or I can make family-friendly nourishing meals for hungry teenagers. Regardless of the type of meals, I always try to find the freshest ingredients that are in-season so they are at their best. The beauty of having a personal chef is that I am here to work with you and your family to provide exactly what you need.
What about allergies and insensitivities?
Your safety is my first concern. Before I begin cooking for you, we will meet to discuss allergens, insensitivities, preferences, and dislikes. I keep separate records for each client so this information is always readily available to me while planning your menus. I will also gather information about what kind of groceries you prefer (all organic, only store-brand, all from a specific store, etc)
What do meal prep days look like?
I will create a menu for you and send it for your review. You are always welcome to tell me what you prefer that week or if you have any fun recipes you want me to use! On meal prep day, I will first go grocery shopping to ensure ingredients are fresh, and then bring everything to your home. If you are out or at work, you can provide me with a code or a key to let myself in. I will then make all of the meals we’ve agreed upon, package them up, store them in your fridge, and leave your kitchen cleaner than I found it!
Do I need to provide anything?
You’ll need to have a kitchen in your home suitable for meal preparation, some basic cookware, and storage containers appropriate for the types of meals you desire. If you are mostly taking the meals to go, you can even purchase disposable packaging. I will inventory your space before we begin so I know if I need to supplement with any specialty cookware or tools.
What areas do you cover?
I can meal prep in Golden, Arvada, and Wheat Ridge. Please contact me if you are outside of these areas so we can discuss feasibility.
What are my next steps?
Fill out the form linked at the bottom of this page so we can chat about your needs and you can decide if this is a good fit for you. If we decide to proceed, I’ll schedule a meeting with you to go over any allergies, dislikes, and preference, and what types of meals you’ll need. Then I will take stock of your pantry items so I don’t duplicate any purchases of spices and oils. I will also note your fridge space, oven setup, small appliances, and cookware so I can supplement with my own where needed.
Can I gift your services to someone?
Absolutely. If the person is elderly or infirm, we can discuss who will make the decisions about their desired meals. I can also provide short term services for new parents!
Do you do dinner service or catering?
Yes! Please contact me if you have a special dinner party, a vacation retreat, or small catering request. While I mainly provide meal prep services, I can generally accommodate these requests depending on size and location.
What else can you do?
Everyone is busy these days and looking to consolidate tasks. As a busy mom, I completely understand. Outside of meal prep services, I can also complete any small tasks that would serve you and your family for an hourly or a-la-carte fee. These include, but aren’t limited to: dog walking, running errands, switching out laundry, and buying groceries outside of the ingredients I’ll need for your meal prep. Please note that I do not provide any housekeeping other than cleaning the kitchen when I am finished using it.
